The definition of a ‘Catwalk Genius’
Fashion lost one of its most inventive stars yesterday, as four-times Designer of the Year Lee (Alexander) McQueen passed away.
The Telegraph seems to have mixed feelings on the matter. Hilary Alexander announced the image gallery above with this tweet:
At the same time, Toby Young wrote a crassly-timed reflection on McQueen’s career, branding him passive-aggressive, hostile and “not a genius”. In Young’s view, “there is no such thing as talent in fashion.”
I don’t know about you, but I’m with Hilary on this one.
*Update* ‘Religion Editor’ George Pitcher, has now stuck his size 11s into this sad affair. His point seems to be that the fashion industry is disgusting, so McQueen’s life’s work was pointless. So much for brotherly love.
